To create a virtual disk, select from main menu:
Virtual Disks -> Create Virtual Disk.
The
Virtual DISK Creator (ZIP, MO, CD-ROM) dialog will open, allowing you to save a
ZIP-disk, MO-disk or CD-ROM to hard-disk as a "Virtual Disk" image-file.
By using
Create
Virtual Disk and
Copy Virtual Disk, data can be copied
from ZIP to MO, or disks can be backed up using the "Virtual Disks".
Additional options:
1. Sector by sector reading - When ON, data will be read
from the external drive data one sector at a time. Unfortunately, this process is
very slow and use is only advised to use in situations where you wish to attempt recovering
lost data from a damaged ZIP-disk or MO-disk.
2. Ignore messages about problems with reading in sectors -
when ON, reading data from the external drive will
be faster, but if an error is discovered during read this will not be reported, and the
read data will be unreliable.
How to create a "Virtual Disk" file-image:
1. Choose
Source Drive:.
2. Choose
Destination Path: , define hard disk destination folder,
file name and fle extension. You may choose to save the virtual disk as a
NRG
- Nero Format (*.nrg) file, or as a
ISO9660 -Format (*.iso) file
(
using Save as type:).
3. Click on
[Create] button to start creation of Virtual Disk.
ExSC will start reading data from the external drive and will record this data to disk.
4. After Virtual Disk creation is completed, ExSC will inform with an appropriate message.
!!! Trick: make a copy of ZIP or MO disk, and then
burn the virtual disk onto a CD using 3rd party CD burn software ...

The
Copy Virtual Disk dialog will open, allowing you to copy a "Virtual
Disk" image-file to ZIP-disk or MO-disk.
This option is only accessible when at least one ZIP-drive or MO-drive is available.
By using
Create Virtual Disk and
Copy Virtual
Disk, data can be copied from ZIP to MO, or disks can be backed up using the virtual
disks.
Additional options:
1. Sector by sector writing. Data are slowly stored one sector at time.
Use only when normal writing gives errors or devices do not accept faster burst mode writing.
How to copy a "Virtual Disk" file-image to a ZIP-disk or MO-disk:
1. Choose external drive.
2. Choose file with disk image, you wish to copy.
( format Nero or ISO )
3. Click
[copy] button, to start process copying the data from
the virtual disk image onto the ZIP-disk or MO-disk. Global transfer progress is shown in
the red progress bar. Sector details written are shown in the external disk sector map. The
status bar displays elapsed time and recorded size (in MB) written to external disk.
